The 'crop circle' visible from the Kessock Bridge sparked queries to the Inverness Courier office this morning.

THE mystery of a giant painted symbol that appeared on a hill in North Kessock overnight has been solved.

Attracting attention, comment and query it is not the work of visiting aliens but the logo of a new Inverness record label.

Following a bit of detective work by the Inverness Courier founder of the Exklusive label, Phil Macdonald, admitted he and his team were the ones behind the 750 square metre advert.

"It is great to hear people thought it might be a crop circle," he said.

"The point of it is to get people talking and I am impressed that it was linked back to us so quickly."

The logo was recreated on the field using strimmers and special paint ahead of an April gig at The Ironworks.
