Why is Cammy Kerr enjoying change of role while on loan from Dundee at Inverness Caledonian Thistle?

CAMMY Kerr says he is relishing his change of role on the field since going on loan to Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Spending the majority of his career in defence with Dundee, Kerr has found himself further up the pitch at Inverness as he has adopted a more midfield position.
He hasn't looked out of place after impressing in the centre of the pitch in recent games and being responsible for charging his teammates up the field.
Kerr says it is a role he has not played much in during his senior professional career.
But he is enjoying the change of scene as he looks to improve Caley Thistle's fortunes on the pitch as they look to get out of relegation trouble.
He said: "I had played in a midfield role at Dundee before, but genuinely it was only for one or two games.
"Growing up as youngster, I played in every position and I like to think that it has benefited me in some way.
"To be honest, I have loved going in there.
"I don't want anyone to be thinking that I am out of position. I go and play where I am put and I am more than happy to go in there.
"I have enjoyed it, I have relished it, probably it wasn't my best game against Ayr United. But I'm more than willing to bounce back with a good performance. By my own standards it wasn't good enough, even if people think I am out of position, I don't think that way.
"For all my career, I have played wing back, full back or either side, even out in centre half in a three.
"You want to learn the game all the time, you want to be better wherever you can be. It is another string to my bow that I can show I can be there.
"I am a loan player and I want to do my best for this club and see where it takes me."
Manager Duncan Ferguson said while injuries to his squad may have resulted in Kerr playing midfield, he says he is pleased with how he has performed in his newly adopted role.
He said after impressing in training in midfield, he decided to take a chance on him playing in that role.
Ferguson said: "I found that out because I had to put him in there, there was nobody else.
"We noticed it in training, he is good on the ball, but it is not his preferred position obviously.
"But we lost Charlie Gilmour, so we put him in there as an emergency and he did well. That is where he will have to stay at the moment.
"He cracks on and those are the boys you want. He is a worker, talented and gets on with his job, no matter what you ask and we are happy to have him here."
Kerr is expected to start for Inverness against Dundee United at Tannadice as both teams are looking for points for different reasons.
While leaders Dundee United are chasing the title and promotion back to the Premiership, Inverness will be searching for a win which could take them out of the relegation play-off zone.
Being a Dundee player, Kerr is expecting a hostile reaction from the United fans today, but admits he is relishing playing at Tannadice and trying to get a win.
Kerr said: "I am buzzing for it, I have played in Dundee derbies, been lucky enough to win some and unlucky enough to lose some.
"To be a fan of the team across the road is one thing, but to play against them is something that I relish in a game of football, no matter what team you are with.
"I am buzzing to go down there and play football, that is what I am here to do.
"Some of my best pals are Dundee United fans and I take it daily from them anyway in terms of abuse. But it is in jest and it is all part of the game. But come 3pm, I will just focus on the game and do my best."
