The Caley Jags needed results to go their way in the final round of matches before the split to move into the top four, and did their own job in style.

Rhea Hossack, Iona MacArthur and Ellie Anderson each scored hat-tricks, with Betty Ross joined by academy graduates Sophie Bell and Lois Stewart in adding to the tally.

Coupled with Renfrew’s draw with play-off chasing Ayr United, it meant Inverness moved into the top half on goal difference – pitting them against the league’s top sides once again before the end of the campaign.

The Highlands and Islands League continued last weekend too, with it looking like being a very open title race in 2024.

Sutherland are now at the summit after a 5-0 home win over Clachnacuddin.

Caithness, who had previously been leading the way, lost 4-2 to Ross County, who will have their own aspirations of topping the table.

Defending double winners Buckie returned to winning ways as they picked up a 5-0 victory over Ross and Cromarty.

Nairn St Ninian forfeited their scheduled tie against Orkney.
