Golfers from Inverness and Nairn are called up to the Scotland squad

GOLFERS from Inverness and Nairn have been named in Scottish Golf's squad selection for the 2023/24 season.

Inverness golfer Summer Elliott and Nairn golfer Calum Scott have been selected in the national set up for competition through the season.

Scott has been named in the Men's High Performance Squad with Elliot chosen to be part of the girls' performance squad.

Elliott has had a strong 2023 campaign winning both the Barrie Douglas Scottish Junior Masters as well as the SGF Vase and the Junior Tour Golspie and Royal Dornoch.

Scott has also enjoyed a strong season thus far, placed third in the 2023 St Andrews Links Trophy and most recently Scott and Graham were selected to compete in the 2023 Walker Cup Team, one of the highest accolades to receive in the world of amateur golf.

Matthew Wilson from Forres Golf Club has also been called up to the men's high performance squad.

Reflecting on the squads selections for 2023-2024, the Scottish Golf Performance Team said: "We have a huge depth and breadth of homegrown talent in the Scottish squad selections for 2023-2024.

"All of the selected players have demonstrated drive and determination and a desire to excel in their individual performances and we look forward to helping them further grow and develop as they seek to reach new heights and progress their game further."
