MERKINCH parent and toddler group has seen a resurgence of popularity in the past six months with two morning meetings every week and an afternoon session in the pipeline.

Around eight to 14 children attend each session at the community centre while their mothers have the opportunity to take a time for a coffee and a chat. Lisa Baxter, who has run the group since June, said: “For a lot of mothers it is an opportunity to socialise and relax. Once the children are playing together it means less running around for us.”
The group is run under Highland pre-school guidelines and relies on funding to purchase equipment including toys, paint, tables and chairs. |
