TOWERING midfielder Ross Draper has checked into Caley Thistle from Macclesfield Town, ready for the challenge of the Clydesdale Bank SPL.
The six-foot, three inch middle man was signed by manager Terry Butcher, who won the chase for him despite interest from several clubs south of the border.
The 24-year-old, who has inked a one-year contract, joined Macclesfield in 2009, having started his career at Shrewsbury Town.
He made a total of 43 appearances for Macclesfield in 2010/11, scoring five goals. Last season he made 31 appearances, netting four goals for the Blue Square Premier side, who were relegated from League Two last season.
Wolverhampton-born Draper is set to make his debut today (Saturday) in the Buckie Thistle v ICT match, which is a testimonial for Jags’ stalwart defender Jamie Shewan.
This latest signing follows defenders Gary Warren and David Raven, Spanish goalkeeper Antonio Reguero and forward Jason Oswell into the SPL club this summer.
