FORT William boss Danny Conlon reckons his side could test ever-improving Fraserburgh this weekend - if they can replicate the good half hour they played against Wick Academy on Saturday.
The visitors to Claggan Park ran out 3-1 winners in the Highland League tussle, but Conlon was delighted that his team refused to fold after losing two early goals and were only killed off by a Sam Mackay wonder goal 10 minutes from time.
Gary Weir hit a double for Wick within 20 minutes to leave Fort facing a mountain to climb - only a week after they crashed 6-0 away to Deveronvale to remain in second bottom position.
However, Darren Duncan fired Fort back into the game on 52 minutes and it was nip and tuck until Mackay cracked a 25-yard shot past keeper Stuart Gray to ensure the win for the side from the far north.
This Saturday's fixture against the Broch, who drew 2-2 against Deveronvale last week, could be switched to Bellslea Park if conditions at Claggan are too wintry for action.
Now Conlon hopes his team can find their second half form from the start this weekend.
He explained: "In the first half against Wick, we didn't contain them well enough and we didn't defend well enough for their first two goals. However, for 30 minutes of the second half, we played really well and got the goal just after half-time.
"The conditions were ideal and the pitch was in good condition and I think we had them worried for a while, there's no doubt about that, but they are a quality side and they showed that on Saturday. Their third goal from Sam Mackay was terrific - a goal good enough to win any game to be honest, so that put the gloss on the scoreline."
Looking ahead to their date with fifth-placed Broch, Conlon said: "We still have a number of the top teams in the league to play, so we're really hoping that we can have an influence in what happens.
"Fraserburgh are doing well, although that's mainly at home, so we hope that if we can show the positive side of our game from last Saturday if the game is at Claggan, we can cause them problems. Kris Hunter (Broch boss) might be a wee bit concerned by their away form. Only a couple of weeks ago, they were held to a 2-2 draw at Brora Rangers, so we'll certainly give it a go."
Cousins Sean and Michael Ellis are set for Australia this month and the boss admits he'll decide this week whether to involve them one final time or look to the future.
Also, for the second week in succession, Conlon is running the rule over three trialists from Skye and they could be included against the Broch if they fare well at training.
