Man arrested following indecency claim by canal jogger

A 57-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident involving a female jogger at the Caledonian Canal last month.

The incident took place at the canal side between 4pm and 4.30pm on Wednesday January 4.

A police investigation got under way after 26-year-old female who was jogging towards Inverness complained she was confronted by the man who acted in an indecent manner.

Police said at the time the woman was physically unhurt but was distressed following the incident.

Following extensive enquiries, a the man been charged and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
