A FULL-SCALE search for a missing Inverness toddler has been called off after she was found safe and well.

The two-year-old, named as Hope Mackay, was reported missing from her home in Anderson Street close to the banks of the River Ness.

Officers from Northern Constabulary were conducting door to door searches in the area, as well as checking on outhouses and open areas, and police appealed to members of the public in the vicinity to check their properties for any trace of the missing girl.

The North Kessock-based inshore lifeboat was called out and made repeated sweeps of the river and harbour areas.

Shortly after 3pm, however, Northern Constabulary revealed the little girl had been found safe and well in the locality.
