A TEENAGER whose boyfriend cheated on her smashed the windscreen of his van in an Aviemore car park Inverness Sheriff Court heard.
First offender Chloe Bates (18) of Woodside Drive, Inverness admitted willfully damaging the windscreen in Burnside Road, Aviemore on August 20 or 21 last year. The damage to the van cost £190.
She also admitted on August 27 or 28 conducting herself in a disorderly manner by seizing Tony Macklin struggling with him and spitting in his face.
Depute Fiscal David Bernard said on the evening of August 27 Mr Macklin’s been near the Tesco car park about midnight. He was in the company of a woman and when he was approached about midnight by Bates who seized him by the collar, he struggled with her to get her to release her grip then she spat at him.
John McColl, solicitor, said Bates was a shop worker who had been in a relationship with Mr Macklin for between 18 and 20 months, until she found out he had been cheating on her.
He said he found the vehicle which she knew belonged to his family and committed the offence.
“She received texts from Mr Macklin suggesting they get back together and she decided to consider this.”
But Mr McColl said she later saw him with the other woman and he was sneering at her.
“She is a young woman with no previous convictions. The same cannot be said of the complainer who is no stranger to the courts,” he added
Sheriff Margaret Neilson deferred sentence for good behaviour until August 16.
