A JEALOUS man smashed up his partner’s flat on two occasions, Inverness Sheriff Court heard this week.
Nicholas Dunbar smashed a coffee table, punched a hole in a wall then threw dumbbells at his girlfriend’s car on March 23, smashing the windscreen and damaging the dashboard, after she had some men round at a party in her flat above his apartment in Foyers after he turned them away from his own.
Then on April 5 he entered his partner’s flat drunk and smashed up the living room causing damage to a computer screen, tablet computer, flat screen TV, and a window on the front door.
The total cost of the damage was in excess of £1,000.
Dunbar (28) of 24 Glenlia, admitted two charges of wilful damage.
Craig Wood, solicitor, said Dunbar had mental health issues and suffered from depression. He had been in an on-off relationship with the woman and was “somewhat jealous” when the group of men went to her house after he turned them away.
He said his partner wanted them to get back together.Sheriff Gordon Fleetwood fined Dunbar £200 who ordered him to pay £878 compensation.
