A TARTAN Party in honour of a mother with a terminal illness, raised £5000 for the family.
Laura Young - a volunteer drama leader for the All-Stars group in Nairn, found out that she had lung cancer in November last year.
While she began chemotherapy her friends began a fundraising campaign to help the family make memories.
The party was thought up by Jennifer MacKee, a close friend of Mrs Young’s and on Saturday, March 4, over 250 people came along to the Nairn Community Centre.
Ms MacKee said: "It was a fabulous night but very moving. There was lots of laughs and really great music - no-one will forget it."
As well as performances from the All-Stars drama group there were bands like Carma, Something Blue and Toby Michaels.
The evening was finished off by singer Mork who played Caledonia and Loch Lomand.
Mum-of-four, Laura Young was blown away by the generosity of the local community and all the hard work that had gone into the show.
She said: "It was absolutely brilliant but it past far too quick.
"I am hoping to put the money raised aside for my children’s future and hopefully we will get a chance to get away somewhere soon.
"It was just great to see everyone together in the same room and I cannot thank Jenny enough for organising it all."
The event originally raised £4,797 but an anonymous donation rounded the money up to exactly £5000.
