POLICE are investigating two cases of card skimming in villages near Inverness.

And they are warning the public to remain vigilant when using cash machines.

Two devices were found at commercial premises in Beauly and Drumnadrochit yesterday.

Teams of organised criminals target ATM users by stealing their bank card details and PIN numbers with sophisticated devices and cameras.

Northern Constabulary has produced a seven minute film about card skimming illustrating what to look out for

The film is available on the Northern Constabulary website: www.northern.police.uk/scams.htm and on the Force’s Facebook and Twitter channels.

Police are urging people to immediately report anyone seen loitering suspiciously in the vicinity of an ATM or interfering with a machine.
