A MAN was taken to hospital after he had been cut free from a vehicle which was involved in a crash on the A862 Inverness to Beauly road earlier this morning.

The busy commuter route was closed in both directions during rush hour, but has since re-opened, after emergency services were called to the scene of the two-vehicle smash, close to Lentran House, just after 8.30am this morning.

Fire crew used cutting equipment to free the male trapped in the vehicle and he was taken to Raigmore Hospital by ambulance.

His condition is not thought to be life threatening.
