WITH just a month to go until we reveal how our 10 Years Younger winner has been transformed, she is really picking up the pace to make sure she is in tip-top condition and looking her best.

Anita Crant has been undergoing a gruelling training regime with a personal trainer from Fit4Less on Harbour Road and the Raigmore Hospital nurse said the hard work is paying off.

She told the Highland News Group: "It's going brilliantly, it's really good. I am really enjoying it and I am feeling so much better in myself. I am doing much better than I would have done had I tried to do this on my own."

Anita has been training under the watchful eye of Stuart Main, one of Fit4Less's personal trainers. Anita, who lives in Fairfield Road, said she would not have managed without him.

"Having Stuart really helps, it has kept me going," she stated. "I would have given up by now had I gone alone.

"I am definitely going to keep going to the gym after the reveal. It would be such a waste if I didn't keep it up.

"Winning this competition is just what I needed. I needed that push to go along and have someone show me how to work all the equipment and how to train properly."

And the mother-of two said she has been making steady progress.

"I haven't lost a lot of weight but my body shape has changed. I'm working really hard and I think I must be doing something right. I am trying to go about five times a week.

"Stuart has been really good, he has gone above and beyond to help me out."

One of the exercises Anita has been doing is the Fit4Less challenge which has been adopted from a national fitness test. In the few weeks she has been training she has already improved.

She said: "I have knocked a bit of time off the challenge and I am going to try it again at the end of the competition to see if I can get my time down again. I really enjoy the challenge, although it is a bit of a love/hate relationship as it is so hard."

As well as the usual gym equipment, Stuart has given her the task of using kettle bells. Anita said: "It looks really easy, but it is actually really tiring. I think it is meant to tone me up and give me an all-over workout. At least, that is how it feels."

Stuart said: "Anita is doing really well. To keep her motivated we have been getting her to do the Fit4Less challenge and she has knocked a couple of minutes off her time since first starting.

"When she first did the challenge which includes eights stages such as shoulder presses, box jumps, bench presses, and squats she did it in 22 minutes two seconds. She has now got that down to 20 minutes eight seconds. We fully expect her to get that down to under 19 minutes by the time we have finished wit her."

Stuart added: "We have also introduced the use of the kettle bells, which is a cast iron weight which looks a bit like a cannon ball with a handle. It is used to perform ballistic exercises which combine cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training."

He added: "Anita is doing really well and she has lost weight, but we will be keeping how much weight she has shed under wraps until the big reveal."

As well as the fitness training, Anita is also being treated to a set of veneers by the Eden Dental Clinic on Bishop's Road.
