NURSE Anita Crant, who is undergoing a 12-week transformation as the winner of the Highland News Group's 10 Year Younger Competition, is smiling with confidence after being blessed with a new set of teeth.
The 44-year-old's bottom teeth have been replaced with brand new sparkling veneers courtesy of the Eden Dental Clinic, one of the competition's sponsors.
Anita, who lives in Fairfield Road, Inverness, is no stranger to dental works and paid out hundreds of pounds to have work on her top teeth done.
But the mother-of-two was not happy that her bottom teeth didn't match but now, thanks to 10 Years Younger, she has been left with a new grin.
Anita, who also works in clothes store Monsoon, said: "My teeth look lovely. I am very pleased with them, they feel totally comfortable."
She added: "Everything at the Eden Dental Clinic has been fantastic. For most of the treatments I have had I have been numbed up and the dentist has been great at explaining everything he is doing. I have always felt very relaxed and laid back."
Anita added: "I previously had paid to have work done on my top teeth, but I was always conscious that the bottom ones looked bad in comparison. I wouldn't say I am smiling more now, but I am definitely smiling with more confidence."
Ken Provan, principal dentist with the clinic on Bishops Road in Inverness, said: "All of Anita's work has now been completed and her teeth look great.
"Basically the main work we have done is to her lower front teeth. They were a bit grey and various different colours and she had a part crown which had a slight abscess which we had to clear out. However, once that was all sorted we got the veneers done and they now look fantastic."
Ken explained that the veneers were created by Dental Technology Services (DTS) which operates from Glasgow.
The family business manufactures custom-made dental appliances for over 3,000 dentists.
Ken said: "They have done a fantastic job in creating the veneers. DTS are brilliant at the they do and it has been a really good job."
Director Sandy Littlejohn added: "We're excited and proud to be a part of this great initiative once again. It's wonderful and inspiring to see dentistry play a key role in transforming someone's life."
